It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Margaret Rose Willett on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born Dec. 25, 1922, in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Elizabeth (Harte) Matheson.
Margaret resided most of her life on 12 McKenzie St., Glace Bay. The last three years she was a resident of Seaview Manor, Glace Bay, where she received excellent care. Margaret was a quiet lady who greatly loved her family.
Mom is survived by one daughter, Mary (Ian) Mercer and one son, David, both in Glace Bay. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Lloyd (Dianne), Deborah Mercer, Lloyd Willett, Lana (Mark MacNevin); five great-grandchildren, Ian (Tara), Laura, Lisa Mercer, Sara MacNevin, Ryan MacNabb; several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Willett, three sisters, Mary, Katie, Sarah, two brothers, Neil and Danny, and a daughter-in-law, Audrey Willett.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Stacey LeMoine, accompanied by organist Stephanie Doyle is Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney-Glace Bay Highway.
