Lorna MacDonald, 46, of 149 Point Aconi Rd., Mill Creek, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at the Northside General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
A lifelong resident of Mill Creek, she was the daughter of Carmelita (Marsh) Peck and the late Stan Peck.
She was a member of St. Joseph parish, Bras d’Or. She was a longtime employee of the admitting department at the Northside General Hospital.
Lorna is survived by her husband, Alex MacDonald; her daughters, Kristen (Kyle) and granddaughter, Brooklyn Grace, Sydney Mines, and Alexandra and Loren at home; her mother, Carmelita Peck and her sister, Laurie Peck.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Bernard and Eliza Marsh and her paternal grandparents, Sam and Grace Peck.
Visitation Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Frances Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to Cape Breton Palliative Care or a charity of choice.
