Mary Poplawski, 72, of Glace Bay and formerly of New York, passed away at her residence on Dec. 24, 2009.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Marie (Ford) MacPherson.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley Poplawski , USA; and her daughter, Donna Poplawski , Ontario; brother, Alfred (Joan) and sister, Alma (Eddie) Buchanan, Glace Bay. Also surviving are half siblings, Greg (Ada) MacPherson, David (Trudy) MacPherson, Dennis MacPherson and Sheila Hopkins and her family. There are also several grandchildren in both Ontario and the USA.
Mary was predeceased by her sister, Helen MacCormick, brother, Donald (Tina) and half brother, Jackie.
Mary was a strong supporter of the Glace Bay Food Bank, the Salvation Army and Harvest House.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Patten Funeral Home, Glace Bay. Burial in St. Anne’s Parish Cemetery will take place at a later date.
