Louie passed away peacefully with his family on Christmas Day in Oshawa, Ontario. We, all of his immediate family, were Blessed to be visiting with him at the time.
Louie truly loved life - family, friends, music, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Our fondest memories were spent with Louie in our home gathered around, while he played his guitar and we all sang along.
Louie did carpentry work and could turn his hand to anything. For the last number of years, he was employed with the laborer's union in Northern Alberta. He is survived by his father, Louis Charles Sr.; brothers John William and Francis Gerard; sisters Margaret Alice Thomas, Mary Olive DuGas, Theresa Madonna Gear and Moira Anne Walsh and families, many nieces and nephews, and a special niece and Godchild, Cheryl Theresa Walsh.
Louie was predeceased by his mother, Sarah Catherine; brothers Anthony Joseph, John Joseph and wife Carol Frances; brother Daniel Joseph and his son, Charles James, whom he dearly loved. He was also predeceased by a brother, Louis Charles and a sister, Catherine Elizabeth, in infancy.
Louie belonged to Immaculate Conception Parish, Sydney Mines. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Keith Callaghan on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Cross Parish in Oshawa. A graveside committal will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Sydney Mines, at a later date.
