Varner, Lloyd M. - 97, of Diligent River, Cumberland Co. passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Glasgow Mountain, he was a son of the late George “Fred” and Leah (Bowden) Varner. He is survived by a sister, Mabel Green, Middleton; brothers, Medley, New Glasgow; Roy (Janet), Diligent River; Aubrey (Leoda), Yorke Settlement; Harry “Bub” (Alexia), Parrsboro; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Bernice, Grace; brothers, Laurie, Edward, Stanley, Claude, two in infancy. Visitation 6-8 p.m. today [Wednesday, December 30, 2009] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating.
