Carl Tessier
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 Carl Tessier, age 67. Carl David Tessier was born September 21, 1944 in Grand Bank, Newfoundland to parents Fred and Mary Tessier (nee Buffett). Carl's career began as an active member of the Navy. Following time served, Carl launched what would turn out to be a successful business and political life. Carl had a long list of community involvement including active participation with St. Martin's Anglican Church, the Kinsmen Club, Gander River Management, Kittiwake Coast Association, the Airport Authority, Municipal Town Council and many more. Carl was extremely proud of his work with the Progressive Conservative Party. Carl had a natural green thumb and was considered an expert hobbyist in both his crafts: Gardening and wine making. Above everything, family was always Carl's top priority. Carl was a loving, caring, and passionate family man. A devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather, he took it on himself to ensure a quality standard of living for those around him. Carl’s latest passion in life was his two Granddaughters, Jane and Kate. The friends and family of Mark and his wife Kelly are committed to ensuring Jane and Kate have long lasting memories of their Grampy Tessier. The passion and integrity Carl demonstrated during his career, his special interests, and in his family life was contagious. He led a life that others will strive to adopt and learn from. He will always be remembered for his contribution to improving the lives of those around him, including those who haven't had the pleasure of breaking bread with Carl Tessier. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Mary Tessier, father-in-law Fred Kirby, sister Eloise Tessier. Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife Anne Tessier, son Mark (Kelly) of Gander, brothers Jim (Anne) of Grand Bank, Bruce (Marilyn) of St. John’s, Rick of St. John’s, grandchildren Jane and Kate and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service was held on Friday, June 1st at 2:00 P.M. from St. Martin’s Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Interment, All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl’s memory may be made to St. Martin’s Anglican Cathedral. Arrangements entrusted through Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander.
