It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing Marie Shirley MacInnes, 68, on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, after a lengthy illness, at her home, North Sydney.
Shirley was born in North Sydney, Oct. 11, 1941, the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Osborne) Dolomont.
She worked for a number of years at Alteen’s jewelery store and Shirley enjoyed teaching art at Fairview Elementery school. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Shirley will be forever missed by her only daughter, Debbie MacInnes; her two brothers, Mike (Linda) Dolomont, and Bill (Sylvia) Dolomont; her three sisters, Molly (Luc) Quelette, Frances Sheffield and Bridgett (Fred) Fudger; also her brothers-in-law, Bob Bradbury and Frank Fennell, all of North Sydney; several nieces and nephews; and her constant and faithful companions, Billie and Poochie.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jamie MacInnes, her sisters, Mary Bradbury, Joan Fennell, Teresa (Pat) Dooley, brothers, Jim, Stephen ‘Ron’ and Jack Dolomont.
There will be no visitation by request. A funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating and burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Two Rivers Wildlife Park.
