Carl passed away suddenly on December 25, 2009 in Kamloops at the age of 74 years.

Carl is survived by his wife of 48 years, Roseann, his brothers: Peter Dahl and Gregory Dahl, his sisters: Sylvia Frost, Claire Krest and Sella Rupert, his nieces, nephews as well as numerous friends.

Carl was predeceased by his mother Clara on November 19, 2009.

Carl and Roseann married in 1961. He graduated from Michigan Technology in 1964 as a civil engineer. Carl and Roseann moved to Vancouver where Carl had his first position as an engineer at HA Simmons. After a few years then moved to Prince Rupert and then finally to Kamloops where Carl worked for Weyerhaeuser. He loved to curl and had been on the same curling team for over 20 years with the Willy Schimpf Rink. In 1982 he bought WA Swanson Engineering and changed the name to CK Dahl Engineer Ltd. The company grew with the help of his wife Roseann as the bookkeeper. They sold the business in 1992. Carl continued working as a consultant for other engineering companies, he loved meeting people and taking on challenges, his passion for his career was there until the end.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation, 311 Columbia St., Kamloops, BC, V2C 2T1.

A Gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the Chapel of Personal Alternative, 177 Tranquille Road from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A short tribute to Carl will be at 3:00 p.m.
