Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center, on Sunday, June 3rd, 2012, James A. Goff. Predeceased by parents James and Margaret Goff and two brothers Clarence and Desmond and brother-in-law David Rogers. Left to mourn with many fond memories his loving wife Ruth and special daughter Sandra. Also sons: Jimmy and David; and daughters: Gloria and Constance (Bruce) French. Also Ruth’s children: Barbara (Gary) Boland and David (Judy) Jones of California. He is also survived by his two sisters: Mary Rogers and Geraldine (Bill) Power; also two sisters-in-law: Pauline and Carmel Goff in Ontario; niece Margaret Ann (Jim) Beehan and nephew Paul (Bernadine) Power of St. John’s. Also leaves nieces: Sharon (Bill) Burns, Maureen Bennett and nephew Sean (Cheryl) Goff in Ontario. Jim was born and raised in Heart’s Content and fondly remembered those years. He was a great sports enthusiast, especially when it came to Newfoundland soccer. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. St John’s with visitation on Tuesday June 5th, and Wednesday June 6th from 2 -4 p.m. and 7– 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Pius X Church, Smithville Crescent, St John’s on Thursday, June 7th, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Jim’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
