CROSWELL On February 5, 2008 Mr. Dennis Vincent Croswell passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 84 years. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Freda, two sons Vincent (Maureen) of Kamloops and Howard (Leia) of Barriere. He also leaves to cherish his memory two grandchildren Darrell and Megan of Vancouver, one sister Doreen (Walter) Popowich of Yorkton, Sask., his niece Beverly (Myron) Tatarniuk and nephew Barry (Sherry) Popowich. Dennis was predeceased by his parents Henry and Grace and his son Darrell. Dennis was born in Melfort (Resource area), Saskatchewan and grew up and homesteaded between Somme and Weeks, Saskatchewan. He attended school until age 14 then went to work. He joined the Military and served in France and England during WWII. He was wounded twice in France. In 1946 he married Freda Benson and in 1955 they moved to British Columbia. He worked in the logging and sawmill industry and in 1967 Dennis became self employed. He owned several automotive and food service businesses until his youngest son Darrell passed away in 1978. Dennis then worked for D.N.D - Armed Forces, Chilliwack until his retirement in 1988. Dennis and Freda enjoyed RVing, going south for winters and to Saskatchewan in the summers until his recent illness kept him home. His last 3 years were spent living at the Shores Retirement Residence in Kamloops. Canon Jack Phelps will conduct the funeral service in the Schoening Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow, Hillside Cemetery.
