Harvey Clarke Gallaher

Born In: British Columbia, Canada

Passed in: British Columbia, Canada

In Loving Memory of Harvey Clarke Gallaher December 11, 1921 - February 1, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harvey, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Helen (Ella); his three children Bob (Debbie), Jack and Elaine; grandchildren Sheila (Jared), Rob, Greg, Ryan, Jeff, Angela and Aaron; great grandchildren Curan and Cooper, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Ritchie, sister Elenore and son-in-law John Forbes. Harvey was a boxer in his younger days, an RCAF WWII veteran, returning from overseas and working for over 37 years with Southern Pacific Railway. He was involved with The BC Highland Dancing Association serving as president for a number of years and you could hear his voice announcing at many Highland Games and BC Pipers Association events. Dad chaperoned on several White Spot Pipe Band road trips. He tried his hand at curling, golfing and bowling and always had fun but never really afforded himself the time to become an expert as he spent most of his time dedicated to his family. After growing up and living in Vancouver for most of his life, Harvey and Ella moved to Kamloops in 2001. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at Ponderosa Lodge, 425 Columbia Street, Kamloops on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. The family requests that any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC, 201-635 Victoria St, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2B3. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Justin Clark of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 554-2324.
