Lona Gaston
GASTON, LONA - Mrs. Lona Agnes Gaston, wife of the late Floyd Gaston, of Central New Brunswick Nursing Home, Boiestown, formerly of Main Street, Doaktown, passed away at Central New Brunswick Nursing Home on Monday, June 4, 2012 at the age of 83. Born in Taxis River, she was the daughter of the late Vilas and Gertrude (Stewart) Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of St Thomas United Church, Doaktown. As well, she was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #23 Ladies Auxiliary. Lona was an avid quilter and bingo player. She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Gaston of Sackville; her sons, Leonard (Susan) of Doaktown, Marshall (Anna) of Miramichi, Roger of Doaktown and Sherman (Charline) of Moncton; a brother, Eugene Davis of Saint John; son-in-law Robert Fillmore of Sackville; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Amy Osmond), Dr. Daniel, Jessica, Patrick, Caroline, Ryan and Tegan; and a great-grandson, Mason. Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Richard; her sister, Eva Milford; her brothers, James, Cecil, Floyd, Elrey, Carl, Everett and Henry.
Mrs. Lona Agnes Gaston is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 579 Main Street, Doaktown, with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 2pm at St Thomas United Church, Doaktown, with Rev. Dr. Beverley Daley officiating. Burial will follow in the United Church Cemetery, Doaktown. Please note, members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #23, Ladies Auxiliary are asked to assemble Wednesday evening at 6:30pm for a memorial service. In her memory, donations made to St Thomas United Church Fund or to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated.
