HORNE, DAVID - It is with heavy hearts that the family and friends of David Horne announces his passing after a brief illness, on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the age of 57. Dave was the son of the late Albert E. Horne Jr. and Pheobe E. (Tapley) Horne. Dave leaves behind his wife, Lana Hosain; brother, Mike (Darlene), whom he always admired and looked up to; nephew, Christopher; nieces, Kathryn, and Julie, along with great niece Sarah. He will be dearly missed by his best friend Kirk Kinney, colleagues at Enbridge Gas, his many friends and a special group known as the Snappers. He was predeceased by his sister Kimberly Bell. Dave lived his life to the fullest and was gone in an instant. Just the way he would have wished. After taking early retirement from Transport Canada, Dave went back to school later in life and obtained a gas technician diploma. He shared his skills, knowledge, and leadership with Enbridge Gas until his untimely death. If you were a friend to Dave you can probably look around and see something he designed, built, or fixed. A weekend rarely went by that Dave wasn't at one of his many friends homes helping out.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 19 at 1:00 p.m. at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home, 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. In keeping with Dave's wishes there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of one's choice.
