Ellen Carlson Spice (nee Forsyth) November 28, 1918 - March 19, 2008 At 89, Ellen died peacefully with family at her side. Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother left many cherished memories for her family: Howard, Susan, Mackenzie and Monica; Bob, Joan, Andrew and Erin; Nancy, Gerry, Katie, Rob and Christine; Eric, Judy, Kevan, Laura and Layla, Craig, Michelle and Kevin; Jerry, Liz, Jimmy and Lorena, Heather, Alex and Anneka. She was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1984. Ellen was a prairie girl, born in Roblin, Manitoba, she grew up in Saskatchewan. Many happy years were spent between Yorkton, the Peace River country and Victoria with her (late) husband Jim and family. She was proud to work for the federal government in Victoria for 17 years before retiring in 1983. She was an avid knitter, reader and puzzle solver. In 1997 she moved from the coast to join family in Kamloops. Her legacy was her family and the unconditional love she felt for all. She and Jim are together again after 24 years. Many thanks to Dr. Sigalet for his many years of care and to the wonderful nursing staff in the hospice for making her last days so comfortable. Funeral services will be held at the Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel, 11969 216th Street, Maple Ridge, B.C. on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Or, if you prefer, Ellen always asked that you plant a tree for the environment in her memory. Arrangements entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service, telephone 374-1454
