EVELYN RESSLER 1936 ~ 2008 It is with great sadness and sorrow that our family announces the passing of Evelyn Miriam Ressler. After a courageous battle with cancer, God gently called her home on Easter Sunday, March 23rd, 2008 at the age of 71 years. Evelyn will be deeply missed by her husband Joseph, daughters Brenda (Ian) McGregor, Kelly-Ann (Norm) de Wit, and son Wade (Sheri), and five grandchildren: Madison, Cole, Shawna, Thomas, and Owen. Evelyn will also be missed by her many siblings: Doreen, Leonard, Violet, Lewis, Irene, Eileen, Vivian, Lawrence, Iris, Cheryl and their families. Evelyn was born in Rich Lake, Alberta in 1936. She married Joseph in 1959 and with their three children resided in Kamloops for over 40 years. Evelyn worked at the Ponderosa Lodge for many years and after retirement took great joy in her beautiful gardens, and derived much happiness in entertaining people in her home and backyard. Music was a large part of Evelyn's life, she was often heard humming or singing songs, and was a member of the Sweet Adelines for years. Those numerous gatherings of friends and family in her backyard were always accompanied with singing, guitars, and wonderful food. Evelyn's greatest joy was her grandchildren, she was very proud of them and spent time reading to them, playing, watching their sports, and just being there for them. We would like to thank the compassionate staff at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House for the care they provided our mother. We would also like to express our thanks to the Cancer Clinic, particularly Dr. Avanessian for his kind care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 29th, 2008 at Saint John Vianney Parish in Westsyde, 2826 Bank Road. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects by viewing from 7:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 28th, 2008 in the Rosewood Room at Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive. Donations in Evelyn's memory may be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden House, 72 S. Whiteshield Crescent, Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9, in lieu of flowers.
