King, Annie (Nan) nee McKinlay Born in North Vancouver October 17, 1917, Nan passed away peacefully with family by her side in Kamloops, BC on March 20, 2008. Predeceased by her husband Newton Forrest King, parents Annie and David McKinlay, siblings baby Cecelia, Dave, Cis, Dolly, Bill and Jim, one grandchild and two great grandchildren. She is survived by sisters Peggy Horne and Sheila King, her children Diane Hamer-Jackson (Maurice), Donald "Sonny" King (Mariam) and Carole Miller (Ralph); grandchildren Vicki Venables (Wayne), Reid Hamer-Jackson (Lori), Randy Hamer-Jackson (Leandra), Lorne Hamer-Jackson (Fran), Loni Hamer-Jackson (Cliff), Calvin Hamer-Jackson (Karen), Jocelyne Deevy (Brian), Tara King, Geoffrey King, Christopher Miller (Lee Ann) and Karen Reed (Duncan). Nan will also be sadly missed by her twenty three great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Nan worked for many years at Morgan's Variety Store and North Shore Pharmacy in North Vancouver. She volunteered much of her time knitting for and working in the Lions Gate Hospital Auxiliary shop. Many thanks to her wonderful care-givers while living at Kiwanis Seniors Village/Manor in West Vancouver, Evergreen House in North Vancouver and The Overlander Residential Care in Kamloops, BC. A celebration of Nan's life will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, 1044 St. Georges Avenue, North Vancouver on Saturday, April 19, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the Friendship Room. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the BC Children's Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon.
