THURBER 1920-2008 Irene Margaret Thurber, 87, passed away peacefully at home in Woss, BC with family at her side, on March 12, 2008. Born in Greenwich, NS on April 29, 1920 to Edgar and Carrie Forsythe, Irene was predeceased by her parents and four siblings. She was also predeceased by her husband Kingsley in 1984. Mom enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and we were all fortunate to have had a family reunion with her in August 2007. Mom loved to play cards and knit and crochet. Many of her children and grandchildren were the recipients of one of her knitted or crocheted projects. Irene is survived by her four children, Donna Napper (Don) of Woss, BC, Carolyn Williams (Michael) of Kamloops, BC, David (Bev) of Kamloops, BC and Stephen of Courtenay, BC, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews in NS and BC and her sister-in-law Gertrude Thurber of Freeport, NS. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Port McNeill Hospital for the excellent care given to Mom during her stays there. Interment of ashes and a service to be held at a future date in Freeport, NS. The family requests that any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in Irene's name to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of their choice
