Doris Irene MacIntyre
Peacefully at Beach Grove Home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, June 18, 2012 of Mrs. Doris Irene (nee Tunks) MacIntyre (veteran of Second World War) of Charlottetown, age 92 years.
Beloved wife of the late Peter Vincent MacIntyre, and dear mother of Peter (Patricia) MacIntyre and Barbara (Wayne) MacDougall. She is also survived by granddaughter, Lindsay (Darren) Bromley; grandsons, Dwayne (Tammy), Michael (Suzanne Smith), Shawn and Gregory MacDougall; great-grandchildren, Caroline and James Bromley, Callie and Maria MacDougall, Brandon Smith and Molly MacDougall; in-laws, Bridie Tunks, Norma Mullen and Florence Hahn; numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the Atlantic.
She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Jane (nee Harris) Tunks; sisters, Frances, Margaret, Martha and May; and her brother, Henry.
Transferred from the Hennessey Funeral Home to Our Lady of Assumption Church, Stratford, for funeral mass on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot at St. Michael's Cemetery, Corran Ban.
Following the interment, service members of Branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Veteran's Tribute Service.
No visitation by personal request.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doris' memory may be made to Beach Grove Home - Sunset Unit or St. Michael's Cemetery Fund, Corran Ban.
