It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kathleen Atkins of Port au Choix, NL, (1923 - 2012) announce her passing on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, Port Saunders at the age of 89 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children Lowell (Margie), Sharon (Sten), Myles (Evangeline), Juanita (Gerald), Cynthia (Tom), Felix (Beverley), Edgar (Joan), George, Gloria (Calvin), Mary, Beatrice, and Jacqueline (Keith); 31 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Atkins, partner Otto Plowman, sisters Mary and Elizabeth, brothers Ignatius, Alex, Bill and Jack, children Myles and Flora, and grandchildren Kathleen, Barry, Peter and Madonna. Friends visited Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Wednesday and Thursday. The funeral service took place on Friday, June 22 at 2 p.m. at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church.
