Donna was predeceased by her Mother, Armilda Chapman (2006). In-laws Molly (2001) and Erwin Klekta, (2002). Sister-in-law Darlene Van Walleghem (2006), Uncles, Bill Budai and Jerry Matwichuk. Donna was born and lived in Kamloops, BC. Moving to Prince George when she was 16, where she met and married the LOVE of her life Wayne on September 6, 1969. It was at this time Donna accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour. Together we started our life long adventure, moving to Swan River, Manitoba for one year, back to Prince George for three years, six months in Salmo, BC, then back to Swan River for thirty years on the farm. In 2003 the farm was sold and the final move to Kamloops, BC was made to be closer to her Father and other relatives that she had missed for many years. Donna loved the Swan River Valley and the farm. Our four Children were born there and she lead a busy and productive life raising her family. A devoted Mother and Wife, gardening, raising chickens and helping with commercial production of grain, cattle and potatoes. She loved fishing and camping in "her" old school bus camper and tending to the baby calves. She loved listening to music, especially listening to me play the guitar and sing to her. In 1993, Donna finished her High School Diploma and graduated as a health care aid, working in the Swan Valley Personal Care Lodge for a few years. Her next challenge was being employed for a number of years as a Member of Parliament assistant for MP Inky Mark, Dauphin-Swan River Constituency. In the spring of 2007 Donna took a casual position at the Renaissance Care Home in Kamloops as she loved working with and helping Seniors. In August 2007, Donna was diagnosed with cancer. During her courageous eight month battle, while enduring tremendous pain and suffering, her Faith did not waver, but steadily increased. This Faith, along with her loving manner and contagious smile would continue to shine and witness to all those who came in contact with her. Cancer may have destroyed her body, but it could never consume her loving spirit. Donna was and is the 'winner' along with all of us who had the privilege to know her, love her, and be loved by her. We have a beautiful Angel smiling over us. "Smile on our Love" You keep listening, I'll keep singing for you. We will always miss you until we are together again. We wish to thank Dr. Mabee, Dr. Avanessian, and Dr. Leia-Stephen along with ALL the nurses and staff at the Cancer Clinic and Hospital, both in Kamloops and Kelowna. A special Thank you to the 'Angels' that provided such loving tender care to Donna the six weeks she spent at the Hospice House. We also express our Thanks to family, friends, neighbours, Pastor Rob Scott and our Church family and all who helped us through this difficult time with their thoughts, prayers, words of encouragement and acts of kindness. God Bless you all! A Celebration of Donna's Life will be held Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Westsyde Baptist Fellowship, 2833 Westsyde Road, Kamloops, BC.
