Surrounded by her family at her home in Summerside, on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, following a brave battle with cancer, of Jan MacBeath, age 74 years.
Born in Summerside, Jan was the daughter of the late Alex and Ruth (Muttart) Horne. Survived by her husband of 52 years, Bruce MacBeath; daughters Nancy (George) Fotopoulos, Mississauga, ON; Julie (Pierre) Gaudet, Emyvale; grandchildren Hanna and Zachary Gaudet; and Alexandra and Corinne Fotopoulos; brother Lee (Chris) Horne, Calgary, AB; and sister Helen Nugent, Florida.
Educated at Edgehill and Mount Allison, Jan was well known in P.E.I. golf circles and as a volunteer and educator in the Moncton school system.
Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. A private family committal will take place in Cavendish Cemetery, Cavendish. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
