Helen (Urquhart) MacLean, 84, Pleasant Bay, passed away peacefully at Inverary Manor, Inverness on Friday, June 1, 2012.
Born in Cap North, she was the oldest child of the late Christy and Lauchie Urquhart.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church and past lifetime member of the UCW. Mom was your best friend whose door was always open for friends, guests and especially her extended family. Mom was the mother away from home for the boys from Pleasant Bay while they were working away. Her door was always open to them while we lived in Lantz beside her brothers John and Lauchie in the 1960s.

Left to mourn is son, Jerry (Sharon) MacLean, Port Hawkesbury; daughter-in-law, Sally, Windsor, Ont.; brother, Edward Clark (Pat), Halifax; sister, Sandra Fraser (Lester), Cheticamp; sisters-in-law, Patsy, Donna and Betty; 10 grandchildren, Tracey, Craig, Tanya, Christopher, Tara, Corliss, Andrew Brian, Kim, Blake, Blair and 18 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband, John MacLean, son, Brian, brothers, John, Lauchie, Claude, stepfather, Walter Moore.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at a later date in St. Andrew’s United Church, Pleasant Bay. Interment in Pleasant Bay Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Pleasant Bay Cemetery Fund, Inverary Manor or the Alzheimers Society.
