Following a brief battle with cancer,at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Charlottetown, on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, of William Joseph (Bill) Gaudet of Harper Road, Tignish, veteran of the Second World War, age 83 years. Born Oct. 28, 1925, he was the son of the late John W. and Delima Rose (nee Chaisson) Gaudet. Beloved husband of Noreen (nee Doucette) Gaudet and loving father to Diane of Ocala, Fla., Gerald of Geary, N.B., Robert (Jane) of Harper Road, Floyd (Yvette) of Harper Road, Pauline (Greg) White, of Bedford, N.S., James (Xiomara) of Ottawa, Dolores (Steve) of Kingston, N.S., Maurice (Ylise) of North Bay, Ont. He is also survived by a sister Ida Thorne of Saint John, N.B., as well as seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother and father and by two sisters Dora Belzil and Marie Doucette. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Tuesday morning from St.Simon and St.Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment of cremains to take place in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, would be gratefully appreciated.
