MARCHAND, Albina

Albina Marchand passed away peacefully June 25, 2012 at the Goodwill Manor in Ducklake, SK at the age of 75 years.

She was born in Prud’homme, SK April 7, 1937 to Ronaldo and Lucienne Marchand (Grimard)(Marcotte).

Albina is survived by her sister-in-law Rita Marchand and her nieces and nephews Diane (Daryl) Popovitch, Simone (Daniel) Chrusch, Monique (Sheldon)Moe, Colette (Jamy) O’Connor, Michelle (Shaun) Marchand, Ronald Marchand, Joanne (Shane) Stusrud; Louise Corriveau, Simone (Marcel) Brassard, Denis (Cheryl) Corriveau, Roger (Margie) Corriveau, Denise (Colin) Cloarec; Margaret Rose Horn, Barbie (Michael) Bruce, Brenda Delaney; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Ronaldo and Lucienne, brothers Albert Marchand, Leo (Mary) Marcotte, sisters Yvonne Bruce, Maria (Gerard) Corriveau, nephew Fred Corriveau, great nephew Brayden Popovitch.

Albina worked for various local employers and retired from Canada Post in Vonda in 2002. Most of all family relationships were very important to her. Family always came first and always included home cooked meals, birthdays, New Year’s gatherings and many family oriented ‘get togethers’.

Her faith was incredibly important to her, as was prayer.

We’ve been very blessed to have been able to spend much precious time with her.

She was an incredibly loving and caring woman with a beautiful smile and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Goodwill Manor for their gentle compassion and respect.

Vigil service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 7:30 pm, followed by the Funeral Mass on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 10:30 am. Both services will be held at St. Philippe-de-Neri Roman Catholic Church in Vonda, SK with Fr. Marc Mireau as celebrant.
