Linda Mae (Hicks) Mouland, 90, Halifax, formerly of Sydney, passed away Dec. 31, 2009, in Shannex Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax.
Born March 6, 1919, in Bonavista, N.L., she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Laura (Hicks) Hicks.
She devoted her life to her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Linda is survived by son, Douglas (Marcia) Mouland, Truro; daughter, Brenda (Chris) Zinck, Hammonds Plains; brother, Bramwell Hicks, Bonavista; sister-in-law, Phoebe Hicks, Catalina, N.L.; grandson, Peter Mouland (Sarah Quintal), Ottawa; granddaughter, Laura (Chris) McCrossin, Calgary; great-granddaughter, Abigail McCrossin.
Linda was predeceased Dec. 9, 2009, by her loving husband of 65 years, Peter Mouland. Besides her parents, she also was predeceased by an infant son, Douglas, sisters, Clarice and Ella Hicks in childhood, brothers, Victor and Hugh Hicks, Bonavista, Earl Hicks, Eastern Passage.
There will be no visitation. A family funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Burial will take place at a later date in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Linda may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
The family wishes to thank Kris and Mariola Ganski and Elzbieta Kubow at Kingswood Residence, as well as the staff of Parkstone for the wonderful care provided to our mother.
