We, the family of the late Karen Gerard, who passed away June 21 in Hamilton Ontario, would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all who supported and continue to support us in our time of grief. Special thanks to those who sent monetary donations, cards and calls of love and support for those who brought food to our homes, it was so very much appreciated. To special friends, Carin Roed Hansen, Heather Robson, Ali MacDougall, Ann Edwards, Rose Westbury and Vina Johnson, there are just no words or cards that can express my gratitude and love for the support you all gave me this past year. Anita MacDonald, Karen's lifelong friend, thank you for reading the letter from Stan Carey, and above all else Anita, thank you so much for allowing Karen to talk about her cancer and dying, it meant so much to her. Thank you to the pallbearers, Rabbi Ellis, and the women of the Chevra Kadisha who looked after our beloved Karen. Also a heartfelt thanks to Patten Funeral Home, not only for their professionalism, but their love, support, and the most excellent care a family could ever receive at the most difficult of times. My beautiful sister I can not begin to tell you how much I miss you and will always miss you and what an honour it was for me to be by your side, to hold you in my arms as you held me in yours so many years ago when we were growing up.
