BUCHANAN, RENA MAE (nee Jackson) July 28, 1914 - June 7, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother on June 7, 2008 at the age of 93 years at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home after complications from pneumonia. She leaves to mourn her seven sons: Tom (Marg), Raymond (Evelyn), Albert, Keith (Colleen), Doug (June) of Kamloops, Harry (Sharon), and Richard (Maureen) of Thunder Bay, Ontario. She also leaves two daughters: Mary Radford and Dorothy (Woody) Venton and daughter-in-law Maggie, all of Thunder Bay. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Ellis in 1958, sons Ellis in 1988, Don (Bud) in 1996 and daughter Esther in 2002. She was also predeceased by one grandson George (Rick) in 2007, two sons-in-law, George (G.T.) in 2004 and Roy in 1988 as well as daughter-in-law Norma in 2002. She leaves behind 29 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, along with many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are welcome to join in a celebration of Rena's incredible life on Thursday, June 12, 2008 starting at 7:00 p.m. at 570 Collingwood Drive, Kamloops. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial will be held in Thunder Bay at a later date where she will be laid to rest with her son Ellis in Riverside Cemetery. The family would especially like to thank the amazing staff at the Hospice Home for their compassion and dedication to Rena during her stay there as well as a thank you to the staff at RIH 3 West for their wonderful care prior to her move to Hospice. The family requests that any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Cres. S., Kamloops, BC, V2E 2S9.
