AUDREY DEAN We are deeply saddened at the sudden passing of Audrey Mae Dean (nee Olsen), June 20th whilst undergoing cancer treatment in Kelowna. Audrey was born in Watson, Saskatchewan, May 13, 1933, and moved with her family to Chilliwack, British Columbia in 1943, where she attended school and began her working career at Coqaleetza T.B. Sanitarium, Sardis, B.C. In 1952, she transferred to Tranquille also a centre for Tuberculosis treatment, where she continued to work and reside. In 1955 she dated and soon married Robin Dean, settling into a busy family life and building the family home in Brocklehurst. Audrey returned to work in 1970 at Woodwards Department Store (now the B.C. Lottery Centre) eventually returning to Tranquille working full time and raising her four children as a single parent, until 1985. A caring and proud mother, nana, mentor and friend, Audrey devoted her energy to family, grandchildren, and close friend and lifelong partner in crime, Gladys Hartnell.
