MESSER, WILLIAM MILLARD - William M. (Bill) Messer of Tweedside Road, Harvey, NB passed away July 7, 2012 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in 1920 at Harvey, NB, he was a son of the late Albert and Lilly (Embleton) Messer. Bill was a self-employed trucker. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, attending special fiddle music nights, dancing, going for drives and eating out. He is survived by two sons, Eddie Messer (Nola) and Laurie Messer (Cheryl), both of Harvey, NB; a special friend, Mabel Patterson, Harvey, NB; four grandchildren, Keith Messer (Jolene), Fort McMurray, AB, Nathan Messer, Banff, AB, Lindy Little (Ryan), Harvey, NB and Justin Messer (Kristi), Fredericton, NB; five great grandchildren, Rylend Messer, Connor Little, Ben Little, Josiah Messer and Victoria Messer; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his chosen parents, Ed and Bessie (Messer) Swan; his wife, Doris (Williams) Messer; a granddaughter, Shannon Messer; one brother, Lloyd Messer; five sisters, Hazel Donahue, Florence MacDonald, Hildred Gass, Elizabeth Gass and Jessie Lister.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Harvey, NB on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Interment at Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Orlie MacLean, Arthur Clark, Tony Bastianelli and Allison Gass. Active pallbearers will be Keith Messer, Nathan Messer, Justin Messer, Ryan Little, Randy Hood and Curtis Little.
