It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maxwell Chapman announce his passing after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Miller Center in St, John\'s, NL on Sunday January 3rd, 2010, in his 62nd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife; Geraldine (nee Gordon), his children; Carolann (Fred) of St. John\'s, Brian (Catrina) of Ottawa & Jamie (Felicia) of St. John\'s, and his six precious grandchildren; JamieLee, Jasmine, Brianna, Alec, Jaelyn and Kaden, his siblings; Geraldine (Hubert) Locke of St. John\'s, Mrs. Ruby Watkins & Gerald (Lillian) both of Deer Lake, his sisters-in-law; Gloria (Carl) Langdon, Dorothy (Terry) Collins and Mrs. Beulah Gordon, his brothers-in-law; George (Emily), Gerald (Louise), Daryel (Lorraine), Ronald (Cavelle), Phillip (Carolyn) & Terrance. Max was predeceased by his parents; Walter & Mildred Chapman, mother & father-in-law; Alex & Mary Gordon, his sisters; Myrtess Tilley, Olive Chapman, & Marjorie Bennett, his sister-in-law; Shirley Gordon and brother-in-law; Garfield Gordon. Also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family, friends, and his extended family. The family will be receiving family and friends from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm today, Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 and continuing on Thursday January 7th, 2010, from the hours of 10-12, at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL. The funeral service will take place on Thursday January 7th, 2010, at 2 pm at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Deer Lake, with Pastor Peter Grimes officiating, with the burial to follow at the family plot of the Pentecostal section of the Interdenominational Cemetery at Wights Road, Deer Lake, NL. As expressions of sympathy, flowers and/or donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Max\'s memory would be graciously accepted by the family.
