Erna Marie (Lantz) Smith, Wolfville, N.S., passed away in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on January 3, 2010. Born in Mahone Bay, August 19, 1918, our Mum had resided in The Elms, Wolfville, for the past two and one half years. She was the daughter of the late Harris Albert and Mina Elizabeth (Beck) Lantz. Erna is survived by four children: Donald Rae (Stella), Lower Sackville; Marilyn Ann (Charles) Van Buskirk, Wolfville; Robert “Bob” (Jeanne), Lloydminster, AB and David (Beth), Kensington, PEI; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Muir (Alricha “Pat”) Smith, Halifax and sister-in-law, Jean Smith Cameron as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William Edwin Smith (VE1ABT), sister, Rita Zwicker, brothers; Kenneth, Ronald and Hector Lantz. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in Erna’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
