Robbins, Marty Claude – 52, Salmon River passed away tragically in a motor vehicle accident on July 10, 2012. Born in Truro, he was the son of Wendell Robbins and the late Gail (Martin) Rector. Marty was a valued employee of Stanfield’s Ltd. for over 30 years. He will be remembered for his involvement in local minor hockey and sports, coaching and encouraging young people and lending a hand. He was known as a gentle, kind hearted individual with a special laugh who loved life and was compassionate towards all. He lived life every day and particularly enjoyed nature and wildlife always taking time to enjoy the small things. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He will always be remembered as a loving father, brother, son and friend. Besides his father, he is survived by his sons, Ronnie and Kyle; stepson, Maurice McClellan; former spouse, Bonnie Robbins; sisters, Anita (Jack) Wilson, Laura-Lee (Allen Gorman) Reid; brother, Jim (Dawn); grandchild, Aleah; niece, Haley; nephews, Corey, Adam, Michael, Christopher. Also lost in this tragedy was his fiancée, Elizabeth O’Connell. Sincerest condolences to Dillon O’Connell and the entire O’Connell family. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 14 from 7-9 pm with funeral service on Sunday, July 15 at 3:00 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Pastor Steve Adams officiating. Interment in Watson Cemetery.
