Vickie Lay-Plant passed away January 2, 2010, in Charlottetown. She was born in England but moved to Canada and resided in Toronto for many years before making her home in Little Pond, P.E.I. While in Ontario she had her own dance studios and worked in the corporate world. Vickie was always a patron of the Arts and on the Island she volunteered with the Arts Council in Southern Kings. For a time, she represented Southern Kings on the P.E.I. Council of the Arts. In her later years, Vickie obtained her bachelor of arts degree, with a major in French. Vickie Lay is survived by her daughter, Deanne Lay of New York City. She will be missed very much and her memory cherished dearly. A service will take place at All Souls’ Chapel, St. Peter’s Cathedral, Charlottetown, on Thursday, January 7, at 2:30 p.m. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Hennessey Funeral Home.
