At the Prince County Hospital on Friday, July 13 of Evans Carl Payne of Borden-Carleton, aged 81 years. Husband of Elizabeth "Betty" [Kennedy] Payne. Born on Sept. 7, 1930, he was a son of the late Albert and Myrtha Payne of Saint John, New Brunswick. Predeceased by beloved daughter Susan [Kevin] and son-in-law Mike McMackin as well as brother Malcolm and sisters Carol Allan and Doreen Mackin [NB]. Survived by sister Norma Rofe [BC]; sisters-in-law Irene Gould and Anne Marie Elliot [NB] and children Carl [Michelle], Fernwood; Holly McMackin, Hampton [NB]; Eric [Seanna], Warren Grove and Neil [Janet], Kinkora. Also survived by grandchildren Brad [Kim]; Peggy Sue; Matt [Amanda]; Andy; Nickey [Lee]; Carrie; Sarah [Shane]; Jessica; Lindsay; Ryan; Alex; Tori; Bailee; Luke; Mia Grace and new baby Payne as well as 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Visitation on Monday July 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral on Tuesday, July 17 at St. Peter's Church, Seven Mile Bay, with funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Evans may be made to the I.W.K. Children's Hospital. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Borden-Carleton, will have a legion service at the funeral home on Monday, July 16 at 6.45 p.m.
