It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Gerald Sylvester Kaiser at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on July 14, 2012.
Gerald was employed at Municipal Ready Mix for 10 years; he also worked for Parks Canada on the re-construction of the Fortress of Louisbourg as a blacksmith. Gerald enjoyed sharing stories about life growing up, hunting, fishing and jokes with his family and friends. Gerald was known for his iceboat making and his famous blueberry rakes.
Gerald was survived by his companion Jane Harris; two sons Hughie, Catalone, and Nelson (Darlene), Catalone; two daughters Lisa Lilly (Ivan), Calgary, Ann Snow (George), Calgary. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jason, Shaun, Nadine, Mark, Cynthia, Catherine, Sarah, Vanessa, Matthew, Zachery, Aaron, and great grandchildren Cali, Lexie, Kailynn, Joshua, Bella, Grace, Bobby, Nolan, Kolby, Sophia and Seth. Sisters Mabel, Charlotte, Beryl, Mary and Joyce. Brothers Alf and Fred, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary (MacKeigan) and daughter Cynthia Rose. Parents, Hughie and Annie Kaiser; and two brothers Denton and Rodney.
Visitation will be held Monday July 16, 2012 at MacMillan Memorial United Church from 7-9 p.m., and also on Tuesday July 17, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at MacMillan Memorial United Church, Catalone.
Family flowers only, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to MacMillan Memorial United Church.
