Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Nursing Home on Saturday, July 14, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, Raymond Bemister of St. John’s, aged 77 years. Pre-deceased by his parents Selina and Cecil Bemister, son David, brother Cyril, and step-mother Irene. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 52 years Edna; daughter Valerie Grant (Macgregor), Karen Ryan (Stephen); son Glenn; daughter–in-law Dayna; grandchildren: Jamie, Rachael, Matthew, Adam, Liam, Jacob, Selina, Hazen; sisters: Daphne Clouter (Bob), Lois Peddel (Glen), Shirley Dwyer (Stan); step-brother Reverend Everett Hobbs, and sisters- in-law: Viola Bemister, Georgina Ash (Kevin); also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thank you to the staff of St. Luke’s Home for their compassion and care. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 7-9 Sunday, and then from 2-4 and 7-9 Monday. Funeral Service to be held at St. James United Church on Tuesday, July 17th, 2012. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
