CROSBY, Barbara Lynn – 55, of Halifax passed away July 15, 2012 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Wolfville, she was the daughter of Natalie and William Crosby. Lynn graduated from Horton District High School, 1975, Acadia University BSc, 1978 and Dalhousie Medical School, 1982. She then began a residency in Labrador, NL. Soon after, she opened a family practice at the Armdale Medical Centre in Halifax. A caring and conscientious Doctor, Lynn provided family practice to as many as four generations of families. Lynn married Colin Campbell in August, 2008. She retired from her practice in 2009. Lynn was an avid traveller with her husband, and enjoyed skiing, reading, hiking, dancing and spending time with her family. Lynn instilled a love of music in her children and enjoyed playing piano and singing with the medical school choir. Lynn also became active in a number of causes and volunteer pursuits. She is survived by her parents, her husband Colin Campbell; daughter Kathryn McRae; son Andrew McRae; sisters, Anne Crosby-Gaudet and Dawn Crosby; brother Geoff Crosby; niece Hollis Crosby; nephew Zander Hamm; stepson, Robert Campbell and grandson, Aidan Campbell. Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 18th from 6-9pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Funeral service was held on Thursday, July 19th at 2:00pm at St. Andrew’s United Church, 6036 Coburg Rd., Rev. Martha Martin officiating.
