JEAN TEDDER On August 4th, mom lost her fight with Alzheimer's Disease, passing away peacefully at age 89. She was born to William and Jeannie Ramsay on December 22, 1918 in Nelson, BC. She is survived by sons Bruce and Ralph, brother in law Joe (Ina) Tedder, nieces Joan Goode and Marjorie Alfawicki, nephews Bill Ramsay, Laurie and Corey Tedder, as well as many great nieces and nephews throughout BC, Alberta and Scotland. Mom was predeceased by her parents, husband Brian (2000), sister Belle and brother Charles, and many in laws, nieces and nephews. As a teenager in Nelson, running track was her passion, and at one point she held the canadian record for the 100 yard dash. Injuries cost her the chance to represent Canada internationally and eventually forced her to quit. In 1939 the family moved from Williams Lake to Kamloops, where she worked a few years in the government buildings. Mom and dad were married in Kamloops on June 1, 1944, and from that point on she was a homemaker. They built one of the first homes in Valleyview, where she lived until 2003. In their 27+ great years of retirement, she enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, walking daily and supporting her sons. We will miss her dearly, but know she has gone to a better place. She was tired of the fight and decided it was time to rejoin dad and the rest. Special thanks to the staff at Overlander's South Park Wing, your love and caring made mom comfortable for the 3.5 years she was there. Thanks also to Dr. Shirley Sze for her many years of care. A Memorial Service will be held in the Schoening Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Should friends desire, donations to Overlander Extended Care Hospital, 953 Southill Street, Kamloops, BC V2B 7Z9 in memory of mom would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service, 513 Seymour Street, telephone 250-374-1454
