MERLE (MEL) STEARNS 1942 ~ 2008 Merle Stearns of Kamloops passed away on August 17, 2008 at 66 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife Donna, children Rhonda Stearns and Geoff Stearns, both of Kamloops; and grandchildren Shaelee (Rhonda) and Brandon (Geoff). Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings Gary (Bernie) and Dale both of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his mother Jean, father Jay and sister Donna. Mel was employed at Weyerhaeuser from 1973 to January 2004. He was a very active member of the PPW Local 10 and was 1st Vice and President for a number of years. Mel’s greatest love was his wife of 43 years, his children and most importantly, his grandchildren. The immediate family would like to thank all of their family and friends for their support. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 25, 2008 in the Kamloops Funeral Home ChapelUwith Pastor Mary Widmer officiating.
