WILLIAM (BILL) KALESNIKO
Born In: British Columbia, Canada
Passed in: British Columbia, Canada
March 22, 1930 - December 25, 2009
Bill passed away peacefully after a brief time with cancer.
Bill was a long time resident of Kamloops, raising his family here and working as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Bregoliss Construction, McGregor Construction and The City of Kamloops until his retirement in 1995.
It is safe to say that "Backhoe Bill" knew every nook, cranny and street of Kamloops intimately and was very proud of his work. He loved to relay the many stories of his work days with a humorous glint and fond memories of his beloved dog Mickey riding a long side him in his machines in the 60's and 70's.
Bill was predeceased by his wife Faye in 1998, brother Gaston Kalesniko Sr. and sister Anne Haslett.
He is survived by daughters Kim (Dan) and Leslie, and grandsons Kelly (Sonja & Mya), Colin and David. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all family members, friends and neighbours.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to special friend Jean Haggarty and family. A very heartfelt thank you to The Kamloops Hospice, Central Animal Hospital (Michelle), Dr. Swart & staff, Interior Health, MediVan and neighbour Ralph Parr, Gladys & Jerry.
There will be no service as requested.
