JOYCE ELAINE FINLEY August 30, 1930 - September 21, 2008 It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the loss of a dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joyce passed away with her family around her. She leaves behind the love of her life Garnett, whom she was married to for 58 wonderful years. She will be cherished forever by her daughters Brenda (Paul), Becky and Sandy (Alan) and son John (Victoria). She loved each and every one of her grandchildren; Darcey, Jenn, Kiersten, Brandon, Kacie, Alex, Karla, James, Brittney, Bailey, Mitchell and Ava. She also loved her two great-grandchildren, Shayla and Kaleb. She was predeceased by her parents and brother George and leaves behind her sister Connie (Don) and many relatives in Sarnia, Ontario. Joyce was born and raised in Sarnia and moved to Burlington, Ontario after all her children were born. Joyce was a homemaker, but loved her volunteer work at Joseph Brant Hospital. As a family, she enjoyed many years of camping all across Canada. When Garnett retired from Imperial Oil Sarnia Products Pipeline, they moved to British Columbia. Here they enjoyed a wonderful life of being closer to immediate family and became snowbirds for the next 22 years. Joyce loved to travel and she and Garnett made trips to England to see relatives and Ireland, a place that she had a special love for through her grandmother. She made many friends wherever she went. Joyce was very proud to be part of a clinical research for fibrosis of the lungs. Memories of Joyce, her love for her family and life, her funny sense of humour will always be in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank all the staff of 6 South at Royal Inland Hospital for their wonderful care, as well as Drs. Burris, McCauley, Rolfe and RN Madelaine. In lieu of flowers, donations to Royal Inland Hospital would be appreciated. A celebration of life will be held for Joyce at Schoenings Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25th, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Mom said, "He is smiling at me". You are at peace now; let the angels take good care of you. Our memories of you are with us forever.
