GUNTER BITTNER Gunter Bittner of Kamloops passed away on November 3, 2008 at 87 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife Marianne of 65 years, children Eva Keller (Wayne) of Barriere, BC, Peter Bittner of Richmond, BC, Paul Bittner (Angela) of Kamloops, BC, Harold Bittner of Kamloops, BC, Robert Bittner (Dawn) of Turner Valley, AB, and Elisabeth Chayer of Clearwater, BC; grandchildren Sandra & Corinne Keller, Travis & Steven Bittner, Mitchell & Cameron Chayer, and Joy & Julia Bittner; and his sister Gisela Lessel. Gunter was born and raised in Frankfurt, Germany. Gunter and Marianne were married in 1944 and immigrated to Canada in 1952. They settled and built a house in North Kamloops. They met Mack & Mabel Allen and relocated to Brennan Creek to work for M. Allen Logging. After moving back to Kamloops, Dad worked for West End Motors, Automart and Northsyde Automotive until his retirement. In his retirement years he was an active member of the Model Railroaders and also pursued his other passion of fishing. Special thanks to Dr. Yanko and the staff at R.I.H. for their thoughtful care and attention. An informal tea will be held at the Bittner Residence from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2008.
