DOROTHY SMITH Dorothy Smith born July 26th, 1913 passed on December 10th, 2008, surrounded by loving family at Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice. Survived by daughter Marilyn (Gerry) Corboy, son Doug (Bonni) Smith, grandchildren Teresa and Matthew Corboy, Linc Smith (Dionne Frenette), Shyann (Jody) Vosper, great-grandchildren Kinsey and Mitchell Vosper and Nathaniel Smith. Predeceased by husband Al Smith and sister Bernice Doree. Born, educated and married in Vancouver Dorothy and her husband Al moved to Kamloops in 1950 to operate the Standard Oil Agency. For over 40 years Dorothy was the Bookkeeper and Al was the Salesman. Together they were a dynamic team deeply involved in their community. For many years Dorothy was the Lady behind the Man. She travelled all over the world attending Lions Conventions with her man Al. Her favourite spot was her property at Sorrento on the Shuswap Lake. She graciously hosted Friends and Family for over 54 years. Dorothy golfed until she was 82 but her true calling was Bridge, which she played extremely well all the way to the last hand played November 27th, 2008. This Special Lady touched many people with her Intelligence and Spirit. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held at Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour St, Kamloops, BC, on Saturday, December 13th, 2008, at 2:00 P.M.
