He will be dearly missed by his wife of 54 years Verna; daughters Marion (Ernie) and Donna, son Jim and his boys Logan and Ben (Freds only grandchildren) as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Fred lived his entire life in Kamloops. He was the youngest of Italian Immigrants Francesco and Francesca Pippolo. His parents passed away by the time he was 4, he and his older brothers Claude and Eddy were raised by their fathers sister Clelia and her husband Benjamin Fuoco and their children Mary and Raymond. Fred loved horses from a young age and worked for many Kamloops and area ranches as a young man. During this time he began competing in local area rodeos in the bareback, saddle bronc and bull riding events, which took him to places like Calgary, Pendleton, Williams Lake, Penticton and many others. Fred worked for the Canadian National Railway for 37 years until his retirement. He continued to work on local ranches and at the B.C. Livestock CO-OP in Kamloops during his railroad years. Much to the dismay of his yard foreman who on occasion would get the Book Me Sick call from Fred as he was still out chasing cows. Upon retirement he couldnt wait to get back out cowboying. He went to the Douglas Lake Ranch numerous times, the Gang Ranch and helped on many Kamloops area ranches. In his latter years he helped Verna on the farm at Campbell Range and rode for all the neighbours. Fred spent many years riding for his boyhood friend Vic Piva on the Lloyd Creek Ranch, along with Jim Palmer and many others. He was predeceased by his parents Francesco and Francesca, Uncle Benjamin, Aunt Clelia, brothers Claude and Eddy, his cousin Ray Fuoco and nephew Tom Pippolo. A Celebration of Freds life will be held between 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Colombo Hall, 814 Lorne Street, Kamloops, B.C.
