GRUBER Lorne passed away peacefully on January 14, 2009 at Cottonwoods at the age or 79 years. Survived by his three children, Debra Harding (Dennis Wiberg) of Kelowna, Dale (Lorraine) of Kamloops, Dirk (Roxanne) of Calgary, eight grandchildren Chad, Conrad, Curt, Adam, Mark, Brett, Mitchell and Parker, two great grandchildren Quinten and Caillen, his siblings Dolly Kroschinsky of Kelowna, Irene Specht of Vernon, Andrew Gruber of Kelowna and Marie Ross of Kelowna. Sadly predeceased by his parents. Most of Dad's working career was spent in the Arena's of Kelowna employed by the City. Before retiring, he spent 19 years as the manager of the Rutland Arena. After retirement he enjoyed curling and golf and watching all sports on his satellite dish. Dad lived for his family especially the grandchildren. We will miss his gentle presence. A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 750 Rutland Road N., with celebrant Father Otto Rollheiser. Cremation.
