Born In: British Columbia, Canada
Passed in: British Columbia, Canada
IN LOVING MEMORY OF WESLEY RICHARD ANDREWS December 25, 1917 - February 1, 2009 Wes will be lovingly remembered by his wife Louise of 31 years, his daughter Lynn (Rod) Piva of Pinantan Lake, son Rick (Sue) of Chilliwack, step-daughter Sharon (Peter) Philip of Knutsford, step-son Bill (Bea) Foottit of Courtenay, step-son Al (Diane) Foottit of Innisfail, Alberta, twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and brother-in-law Mac Conn and family of LeDuc, Alberta. Wes was born in Moorcroft, Wyoming, the youngest of three children. He had two sisters, Grace and Orlena (Orie). The family moved across the border and back several times before taking up a homestead near Edson, Alberta. Later on his mother supplemented the family income by running a boarding house. Through the depression Wes worked on various farms in the area and tried raising pigs. In 1940, Wes joined the armed forces and went overseas where he served as a mechanic/truck driver. After returning from the war, Wes met Julie, the mother of his two children, Rick and Lynn. The couple moved to Vancouver and were together for almost 30 years before Julie passed away. During that time Wes worked for Simpson Sears as a mobile repairman. In 1978, Wes married Louise Foottit. The couple remained in Vancouver until Wes' retirement in 1983. They then moved to Kamloops where Wes spent the rest of his life. Over the years Wes and Louise enjoyed square dancing throughout BC as members of clubs in Vancouver and in Kamloops. Golfing was another pastime the couple enjoyed and the clubs were taken along on many of their trips around BC and across Canada. In his later years, Wes took up rug hooking and cross stitch, a hobby he worked at up until the day he died. Wes will be remembered for the sparkle in his eyes, his broad warm smile, and most of all his willingness to help whenever help was needed. At Wes' request there will be no formal service. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 203 - 635 Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2B3.
