Our lives changed forever when John Fitzgerald passed away suddenly on December 14, 2009, sadly leaving his family and a large circle of friends. The family would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who helped alleviate the sorrow of John’s passing.

Thank you to Doctor Canete, Doctor Westby and all their staff for their acts of kindness in caring for John in his time of need. A special thank you to Dr. Ganguly and all the staff at the Health Science Center and also a very special thank you to the staff at the Chemotherapy Unit at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital and to all the doctors and nurses who helped John enjoy his life to the fullest for the last nine years.

Thank you to all our wonderful family and friends for the gifts of food to our home, the generous donations given in John’s memory, visits to the funeral home, the beautiful flowers at the funeral home and those sent to our home, the thoughtful sympathy cards, the phone calls and e-mails to let us know you were thinking of us. It is impossible to thank everyone personally, however, please be assured that your presence and acts of kindness did not go unnoticed. We extend our sincere gratitude to all John’s friends for their caring, kindness and support.

Thank you to Archbishop Stewart Payne for an inspiring Memorial Service and to the pallbearers, to the Funeral Directors and all the staff at Country Haven Funeral Home for making a sad time a little easier. Your guidance and assistance were greatly appreciated.

John always felt he was blessed with the finest family and friends. There are not enough words to express the appreciation we feel for your kindness and caring.
