Kenneth "Ken" Wheaton
It is with deep sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of Kenneth "Ken" Wheaton, age 81, of Sackville. Ken passed away at the Sackville Memorial Hospital while surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 20, 2012.
Born in Mount View, N.B., he was a son of the late Reginald and Nettie (Stiles) Wheaton.
Ken was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. He was retired as a stationary engineer from Mount Allison University. He was a music lover and avid guitar player. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, beekeeping and gardening.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 56 years Jennie (Fillmore) of Sackville; sons Kendall (Helen), Ottawa and Stephen (Marna), Prince George, BC; daughter Lois (Herb) Taber, Sackville; grandchildren Euan, Calum, Desirae, Aimee, Tommy and Jesse; great grandchildren Taylor, Jordan, Nevaeh, Adrian, Chase, Mitchell, Strider, and Elora-Danan; brothers Clair (Pat), Sackville, Ronald, Sackville, Chester (Barbara), Cambridge, ON; sister Florence Doncaster, Sackville.
He was predeceased by brothers Orlie and Raymond.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St. Sackville, N.B., (506-364-1300) where visiting hours were held on Sunday, July 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service took place at the funeral home on Monday, July 23, 2012, at 2 p.m., Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. Burial followed in the Sackville Cemetery.
