James Gilbert "Gil" GENIER Gil Genier passed away at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, BC, on February 23, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Born in Kamloops, BC on February 6, 1939, Gil is survived by his wife Shirley, sister Rozanne (Clifford) Shannon, niece Diane (Michael) Butcher and their children Chad, Brock and Quinn, and nephew David (Mary) Shannon and daughter Rianna. He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Winnifred Genier. Gil was a long time resident of the North Thompson Valley. He graduated from the Nanaimo Technical School as a heavy duty mechanic. A Funeral Service for James Gilbert Genier will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Clearwater Baptist Church, Clearwater, BC (across from the RCMP station). Lloyd Strickland, Minister, to officiate. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Clearwater. The family requests no flowers; donations in Gil's memory to the Cancer Clinic in Kamloops, BC, would be appreciated.
