It is with great sorrow that the family of Ira Maxwell Gillam announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at the age of 90 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his partner Linda Coombs and her stepson John Coombs. He was predeceased by his wife Muriel. Also left to mourn, two daughters: Pamela Recke and late husband Ed, Peggy Noel and husband Neil, granddaughters: Vicky & husband Wade Parsons, Deanna & husband Paul Vaters, grandsons: Nicholas Noel (Catherine Watts), Ryan Noel (Jennifer Phillips), great-granddaughter Ashley Parsons, great-grandson Brandon Parsons, great-granddaughter Samantha Vaters, great-grandson Zachary Vaters, brother Bob (Pheobe), sisters: Joan Gillam, Isabel Crowell (the late Earl), Ann Poole (late Donald). He was predeceased by brothers: Donald (the late Vera), Alex (Hilda), Bill (Gwen), sister, Rhoda Wells (the late George). Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Cremation has taken place. There will be no wake by request. Funeral service will be Monday July 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cathedral, Main Street with Arch Bishop Stewart Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia. As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations to a charity of one’s choice will be gratefully accepted.
